What to eat during monsoons

Here is a look at what one should eat and not eat in the rainy season

With the rains just around the corner, one needs to eat healthy food so as to avoid falling sick in monsoons. It is important to have a perfectly healthy body and for that, one needs to keep a check on what to eat and what not to eat. Well, here's a quick guide on what one should eat and what should be avoided in monsoon -

To eat:

Soups: Include vegetable soups in your diet. These will not only keep the cold at bay, it will also ensure that you get the day's nutrients and remain hydrated.

Tea: Try having herb teas, especially a cup of ginger tea daily. This will keep you away from catching a cold and will help digest food easily.

Dry meals: Avoid any semi-solid, liquid-food items and opt for the dry stuff instead. This will reduce the possibility of bacteria in food and hence any infection.

To avoid:

Juices: Avoid juices when it rains, especially from a street vendor. If you are absolutely craving for a natural juice, prepare it at home and consume immediately.

Raw food: Avoid salads and any such raw food in the monsoons. Any semi-cooked food can result in food infection and other health issues.
